My experience on
OUTLINE 2025! This is a grandiose event that transformed the abandoned Soviet pioneer camp "Salyut" (1960's!) to the epicenter of art and technology. Imagine: concrete buildings in the brutalist style, the forest and the Dubna River with wild beaches are the perfect backdrop for experiments.
We spent more than six months in the studio, and this performance was the result of numerous experiments and tests with sound and video. I tried to synchronize them not just technically, but through my own feelings — so that every impulse, every visual element was part of a single experience.
The name OP-A/V-Live-1 refers to Optical Art, a field based on optical illusions. But for me, it was more a study of how abstraction can convey emotions, how form and sound can make the viewer not just look, but feel.
What is especially valuable: the curators noticed the work and included it in the official AVprogram of the festival, next to masters like
404. zero and Chinese media artist
Gan Jian.
Many thanks to the
deepsound team — they made the sound so detailed that it literally became physical. Low frequencies rolled through the hall, high frequencies created a sense of space. It was not just a musical accompaniment, but a full-fledged part of the performance.
We also managed to work with volumetric screens from
SILASVETA studio, which built the main stage, the picture became voluminous in sync with the music.
