One of my favorite studio installations is an interactive payphone for Beeline. It was not just an art object, but a full-fledged reconstruction with deep digital adaptation. We took the legendary Italian payphone of the early nineties — the ones that everyone remembers — and turned it into a technological artifact that became a hit at more than 10 festivals in partnership with NewStarCamp. What was the magic? The guest would approach the payphone, press one of the keys, and… call directly a well-known blogger, comedian, or even a member of the Zoloto group. A lively, unexpected dialogue with the person on the other side of the wire was what caused delight and turned a simple call into an element of gamification.
